About Pediatric Dentistry

Our pediatric dentistry team is known for providing top-of-the-line dental services for our area’s youngest patients. Having a good dentist is especially important for young kids because their early dental experience will determine their oral health for the rest of their lives. At Tooth and Tongue, we help children get the gentle, kind care they need.

Pediatric dentistry is all about preparing kids for a lifetime of good oral health. We teach kids how to care for their smiles, and we also provide regular dental cleanings. If there is a problem, we can help you figure out the best treatment for it. Thanks to our fun, friendly team, your child will learn to enjoy their trip to the dentist.

What's included?

We offer a full range of dental services. Depending on the child’s age and dental health, we may offer fluoride treatments, tooth extractions, or dental cleanings. Most dental plans offer two preventative cleanings per year, so this is our most common option.

As your child grows up, they may need other treatments. We can discuss braces and other orthodontics. If your child needs orthodontic procedures or implants, we can recommend a good provider and review your options. We can also help with a broad range of periodontics and root issues. No matter what your child needs, our team can work with you and your insurance provider.

What do pediatric dentists do?

A pediatric dentist supports the health of a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth. Children start going to a pediatric dentist as a baby and remain patients until they become adults.

Where are you located?

Our office is located in Walnut Creek. If you have any questions or comments, you can reach out to us at (925) 949-8427.

How often should my child see the dentist?

Children should visit the dentist twice a year for regular check ups and exams.

When should I bring in my child for their first dental visit?

Every child is different, and as such, children can begin to develop teeth at a wide variety of ages. Typically, we recommend bringing your child in prior to their first tooth erupting.
